Will these LED dynamic indicators fit my 3rd Gen Hilux Surf?

Yes. The LED Dynamic Side Indicators are precision-cut for the guard holes on the 2nd Gen (N130, 1989-1995) and 3rd Gen (N185 / 185 series, 1996-2002) Hilux Surf and 4Runner. They drop straight in, no trimming required.

Do I need any extra wiring or relays to install these?

No extra wiring is needed for the install itself — they use the factory plug. However, because LEDs draw less current than the original halogen bulbs, many vehicles will start "hyper-flashing" (indicators blinking twice as fast). The fix is the Adjustable Flasher Relay we sell separately, or an LED-compatible resistor — both are quick swaps.

Why are my new LED indicators flashing too fast (hyper-flash)?

Hyper-flash is your indicator system telling you a bulb is "out" — it sees the lower LED current draw as a failed halogen bulb. To fix it, install our Adjustable Flasher Relay (a direct plug-in for the factory 3-pin flasher unit). It tells the system to flash at the normal rate regardless of bulb type.

Are these LED indicators waterproof?

Yes. The housings are sonic-sealed to IP67, which means full protection against dust and immersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. River crossings, mud, heavy rain — no issues.

Are these LED indicators street legal in NZ and Australia?

The LED Dynamic Side Indicators replicate the factory side-marker indicator function and use the same amber colour and similar light output as the original. In most cases they are road legal in NZ and AU. The "dynamic sweep" pattern itself is allowed for side indicators in both countries. If unsure, check with your local WoF / certifier before fitting.
